Trustees are responsible for sending us the information we need to prepare the fund’s financial accounts and tax return. Send all supporting documents to us by email. We need to know the balances at 30 June and the transactions for the year for each of the following:

Roll-overs into the Fund, send us a statement
Fixed Interest Securities
Listed Shares & Listed Unit Trust Investments
Unlisted Shares and Unlisted Unit Trusts
Private company
Managed Investments
Property Investments
Precious Metals, Art Works and other Collectible Assets Investments
Crypto Currency Investment
Other investments
Life Insurance

The trustees must appoint you as their SMSF auditor no later than 45 days before the annual return is due to be lodged and provide you with all relevant documentation to conduct and finalise the audit. If you request more information from the trustees, they must provide it to you within 14 days of your written request. A financial and compliance audit must be completed before a fund’s SMSF annual return can be lodged.
